Flower Fence Shadowbox, Wood, Metal, Toys, 1998
I bought this shadowbox for a dollar at a yard sale in the 90s. I did not alter the shadowbox. My wife found and gave me the rusted metal grate for a paint tray laying in the street on a walk one day. When people know you use found objects in your artwork, they often find things to give to you to work with. I attached wires and flower beads to the grate to resemble a flowering vine on a fence. I placed some old toys from my childhood on the shelves of the shadowbox and hung the beaded grate in front.
